USB 3.1 Type A data transfer horribly slow

Transfer speed with MacOS comparatively slower than with my ancient USB 2.0, both in MS-DOS(FAT) format and in HFS+ format.

    - writing speed doesn't match the description (according to what i see on my system). - I find it expensive with these specifications -There s the type-c plug but may be an adapter could do the trick

I formatted this device with a NTFS filesystem, the available capacity that i see is about 58GB (on windows). When i formated the card, it seems that it did it at 13 Mb/sec.
When i save some data on the drive, the speed
doesn't stay steady. I wonder why, may be it's me. Based on the speed that i see with another usb drive (5 years old), this one is like 3 times slower, which makes about 12 Mb/sec (i'm generous).
Note that the writing speed is not given on the packaging, it's an information that i just see on galaxus.

edit: this is with the USB side. From a mobile phone i copied 500MBytes in 30 sec (16.6 mb/sec), but it looked faster with the type-c side.

Most of my previous usb keys are faster, so i'm somewhat disappointed. Lextar gets average ratings but their usb keys are quite cheap, decently fast and i have never had a problem of reliability.

    Pro

    • - somewhat small
    • - 2 kinds of plug which is obviously convenient

    Contra

    • - way too pricey for it's writing speed and it's capacity

JUNK. After 2 years, it doesn't work anymore.
