I am a musician and home studio producer. For my work on songs and mixing, I use professional reference headphones at home of course, which do not have fake frequencies, but for everyday life and travel I like to use a common consumer Bluetooth headphones.
Because I'm into mixing I'm aware that consumer and hi-fi headphones usually distort the original music to make everything sound cooler and louder than it is. Up to a certain degree this is ok, because in loud ambient noise a boosted bass helps to hear the music better and the music also drives you into your bones better. In recent years, the bass boost is unfortunately more and more extreme it arose a real bass and loudness competition among manufacturers.
Since my old JBL Consumer Bluetooth headphones is now after several years kapput gone, I wanted to buy from the same manufacturer namely JBL a successor product. I was always very satisfied even fan of JBL because they have always had a very balanced sound with your devices (headphones and speakers) It was also with the older devices as usual a bass boost in the frequencies in it, but very balanced, very danceable but without disturbing the other frequencies.
With this product JBL Live 460NC I had expected because of the higher price (for consumer KH) that a high quality driver is built in but unfortunately the bass boost is unbearable. It sounds like a very cheap driver (in the ear cup) it rumbles around in the lower frequencies, they are overemphasized and destroy the rest of the sound. Wen you listen to speech (tutorials, audiobooks) is all the time to hear a buzz in the sub-frequencies incredibly annoying. So the headphones go back with great regret and I probably have to go test listen to other manufacturers. So if anyone has good, HIFI hearing this JBL product is not recommended.

Actually super headphones, which for me are almost unusable because of a poorly implemented feature: The headphones should actually automatically switch to pause when you take them off. And then back to play when you put them back on. But it never works when you need it, but all the time.
For example, they constantly switch to pause when you are lying in bed and press something on the headphones. Or when you put the headphones back on your ear a little better. And this function can NOT be deactivated!
Noice Canceling can be deactivated for this purpose. When the wind blows, for example, noise cancelling amplifies the wind noise. It is better to switch it off.
The actual sound takes a little getting used to for me, I didn't really warm up to it. I then changed to AKG headphones in a similar price range, the sound was much better.
