The Rycote SC-08 is a supercardioid condenser microphone designed for a range of studio and field recording applications. The SC-08 microphones offer directionality with a nearly flat frequency response from 70 Hz to 20 kHz, with a moderate roll-off below 60 Hz. The microphones are based on Rycote's low self-noise preamplifier design and capsules, providing a consistent sound signature that pairs well with other Rycote microphones in the series. The SC-08 microphones can be used individually or in matched stereo pairs. The SC-08 (supercardioid) features the same core preamplifier electronics and is identical in performance to the shotgun microphones, but has a narrower pickup pattern than the CA-08.
