Robust SSDs can quickly become expensive - the Samsung Portable SSD T7 Shield, at 280 euros in the tested 2-terabyte version, is one of the cheapest models. Nevertheless, the surcharge over a conventional SSD is only worth it if the SSD is also to be taken on trips. If you only want to use it at home or in the home office, the sister models T7 and T7 Touch are cheaper and offer a little more speed.

An SSD T7 with the same technology as the rest of the series, but a very stable body - it convinced us. Prices are 179 francs for the 1 TB variant, 329 francs are due for the 2 TB version.
... We measured around 1050 MByte/s when reading large files under Windows and 1024 when writing - USB 3.2 Gen 2 can hardly go any faster. When accessing random addresses, the T7 Shield is in the midfield of SSDs with this interface with 39,000 and 36,000 IOPS respectively. The root directory of the SSD contains encryption software for macOS and Windows, and an Android app is available in the Play...
