Das DDR-36 liefert einen angenehmen, wenn auch glanzlosen Klang. Allerdings kann der Preis-Leistungs-Sieger im stationären Bereich mit seinen vielen Anschlüssen punkten. Neben einem Kopfhöreranschluss befinden sich an der Rückseite des Sangean eine Kopfhörerbuchse sowie ein Stereoausgang. Auch eine USB-Buchse zum Aufladen von Handys ist mit an Bord.
