This USB extension cable (Type A plug to Type A socket) complies with the USB 3.2 specification (SuperSpeed) and is suitable for all USB 3.2 devices. It is backward compatible with older USB standards 1.1 and 2.0. Compared to older USB cables, this cable has two additional pairs of wires for data and an extra ground connection. Thus, the USB 3.2 connectors have five additional contacts.
