The PE408 Port Extender for SCALANCE XM-400 managed modular IE Switch expands with 8x 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45. It allows for flexible expansion of modular switches and offers significant cost savings through the modular system and port expansion with SCALANCE XM-400. The construction of electrical IE networks as well as network topology and port type can be easily adapted to the structure of the system and expanded at any time due to the modular system.

The system provides a seamless industrial network for data, voice, and video. The installation of a port extender to the base device or to another port extender is tool-free. High performance is ensured by Gigabit ports.
