The configurable gateway from serial to Profibus DP enables communication between a Profibus DP network and a serial RS232 or RS485 interface. The gateway is configurable and supports Modbus RTU, ASCII protocol, binary protocols, and Generic Data on the serial side. It can be easily configured with the associated PC software via the RS232 interface. Internal data processing is carried out using a 16-bit microprocessor. Setting different transmission rates is generally possible, with the maximum transmission rate on the Profibus side being 12 Mbps. Installation is simple and reliable on a DIN rail.
