UTP patch cable of category 6 with halogen-free, flame-retardant jacket. The conductors are made of 100% copper and are unshielded. The cable features gold-plated connectors with strain relief. The halogen-free jacket ensures high safety, as the dangerous release of halogen-containing combustion gases is excluded and smoke generation is minimized.

The UTP cable consists of a plastic jacket that houses the unshielded, twisted pairs of wires. Due to the lack of shielding, UTP cables have a small outer diameter, making them easy to handle and install.

The strain relief sleeves in a particularly narrow design allow for comfortable cabling, even with larger switches with 48 ports or more. Halogen-free cables are difficult to ignite, and there is no dangerous ignition cord effect.

UTP cables are the most widely used cables for Ethernet LANs worldwide. Category 6 cables are designed for operating frequencies up to 250 MHz and are often used in professional applications. While transmission speed may be affected over longer lengths, slight excess lengths are generally acceptable depending on environmental influences. Application areas for Cat 6 include voice and data transmission as well as multimedia and ATM networks.
