Can I also use the repeater as an access point? I.e. I want to dial into an existing WLAN with the TP-Link and set up a separate WLAN for guests (new name, new PW).

I really use the repeater as a repeater, so I haven't tried that. As far as I know, however, it should be possible. At least if you set it up via the web interface, you can set the SSID and PW for the "repeated" WLAN separately. And it is also called "Access Point + Repeater" ;).
