I don't quite understand your question. I have fibre-optic Internet at home. However, the Wi-Fi signal is generated by my provider's box (Sunrise). Then the TP-LINK RE450 plugs into a socket in the area covered by the box, picking up the Wi-Fi signal and extending the coverage further.
