Dear community I want to connect my laptop without wifi/internet to the TV (older device with hdmi and usb). Does it work with the chromecast after an initial setup with wifi? Or does anyone know a cheap wireless alternative?

The Chromecast streams everything from the internet, so unfortunately it only works with the internet... Maybe you can use the integrated Miracast from the TV?
