Do I understand correctly that the Ethernet adapter has to be ordered separately? And is it possible that Digitec does not have it in stock?

There is no Ethernet adapter included. I don't think Digitec have it in stock but I've read that any usb-c hub with Ethernet input should work.
For example the: PowerGuard USB-C to Ethernet Adapter
