Do I understand correctly that the part does not have an internal loudspeaker, so the sound goes to the display via HDMI and then via a 3.5 mm plug to an auxiliary loudspeaker? If so, does the sound also go to the screen via the display port?

Correct, no internal speakers. You can simply connect external speakers or, like me, a Samsung curved soundbar to the 3.5 mm plug. HDMI or Displayport as inputs are irrelevant. Both work as you assumed: Sound Out via 3.5 mm plug. Greetings and have fun with the part

No has no internal loudspeakers. However, the signal can be looped through so that it does not have to be connected directly to the PC.
