External Sandisk SSD 500GB is no longer displayed in Explorer, message: Insert data carrier in USB drive (F:). However, the SSD is recognised as a drive in the device manager with the message: The device is working properly. System Windows 10 I have already tried different cables (USB 3.1) and different USB ports, and the drivers are also up to date. Reformatting is not possible either, because Explorer has no access to the drive. Is the SSD really defective?

I have the same problem with the same product. Formatting is out of the question for me, as I still need the data. does anyone have any tips on how to regain access to the "drive"? the SSD is recognised, drivers are up to date - as described above

Have you tried formatting the SSD with "DiskPart" => Clean and then Format....?
