Good day. My old Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) has one micro SIM card slot. The new Fairphone 3+ is equipped with two Nano SIM slots. I have seen instructions on the internet on how to cut a Micro SIM into a Nano SIM. As far as I know, contacts are stored on this card. Has anyone already done this for the Fairphone 3+, or is it better to keep your hands off it? The alternative would be to order a new nano SIM card for the same phone number. But what happens to the contacts?
Hi VauWee
I have already punched about 20 SIM cards - and it worked well every time :)
I didn't dare to cut them myself, so I bought a SIM punch at that time - the ~16 CHF were well invested (instead of 40 CHF for a new SIM with my provider at that time).
You can order a SIM punch here, for example: XCell punch for SIM cards to Micro-SIM, Nano-SIM incl. adapter
Basically, I would recommend you to save the contacts before punching/cutting, e.g. on your mobile phone or in a Google/Microsoft/... account :)
