The whole EU area is already on firmware 1.0.4.0 UNAEUXM and I am still on 1.0.2.0 UNAEUXM with the device from Digitec.
In China there is already 1.0.8.0 with significant improvements to the camera etc.

Hello splinson, mine also still has the old firmware, it says that if I update, I have to switch to the global version, but then my data is stored in Singapore, and I don't need that.
