Apple TV+ works FINE on Chromecast - NO APPLE TV required.

but.... Chromecasts are buggy as hell - had one for 2 months - SOUND would not work 3/4 of time
Got myself firestick - much better...

Download App on:
Your TV (maybe - depending on OS - works fine on Samsung)
your Chrome box
Amazon Firestick etc.
