Hi, between this monitor and the 279CV, which one would you choose and why? For video/photo use, thank you!

Hello, the CRV is a very good alternative to the "really good monitors"! But if you have to do very demanding image processing, you can't get round the Eizo monitors! But they are also in a completely different price league! Unfortunately, the Asus monitor
can't really be calibrated. The built-in speakers are also pretty much the worst there is.
The response behaviour (waking up from sleep mode) is also pretty slow.
But you get a lot of quality for the price!

Hi, the "CRV" has HDR compared to the "CV." The resolution and clarity are higher. The monitor I have is a great monitor, but if you are looking for more in terms of colour fidelity and want to use the monitor professionally for photo and video editing, it might not be enough. I have a different professional monitor and I can see a clear difference. The first big difference with a professional monitor (like Eizo or BenQ) is that the Asus cannot be calibrated. The problem is that a professional monitor is much more expensive (we are talking about over 2000 CHF). That said, I would recommend you to buy the "CRV".

Because the PA279CRV is for Mac. That's why I bought this one.
