Hi, if I connect my MAcbook Air M1 via Displayport to this monitor, do I still need to connect the USB upstream port back to the MAcBook to use the USB hub or does it already work through the Displayport cable?

The monitor does not have a USB-C input, so I would choose a model for the Mac Air M1 that has a USB-C port, which can then be used to charge the Macbook Air M1 directly from the monitor.

This Dell monitor even offers 4K UHD resolution with 3840 x 2160, which is also supported by the Macbook Air M1, it is only a little more expensive in terms of price, but in terms of functionality it is a really great monitor: the 4K resolution also allows scaling with the Macbook Air M1, so the fonts also come out nice and sharp. The Dell also has the best asbestosis and doesn't look bad either.

Dell P2721Q (27", 3840 x 2160 Pixels)

Curved is actually just a widescreen 27 inch but with 3440 x 1440 pixels (normal 27 inch with 2560 x 1440), the font quality will not be super good with it, a 4K UHD display is already able to produce an image just as good as the Macbook Air M1, especially with text and writing.

Alternatively, with 34 inches but with the smaller resolution, also USB-C charging:

Samsung C34H890WGU (34", 3440 x 1440 Pixels)

Or an LG, which has 35 inches but the same resolution as the AOC or Samsung screen:

LG 35WN75C-B (35", 3440 x 1440 Pixels)
