Question about Dell UltraSharp U2720Q
I bought this monitor about two months ago and was thrilled with it. I use it via USB-C with my MacBook Pro 16 inch. Now after a longer period of use, I have noticed that I sometimes have connection problems. When I plug in my MacBook, everything is sometimes displayed oversized at first, pull out the USB-C cable again and plug it back in - the problem is usually solved and doesn't bother me any more. However, it has now happened several times that my MacBook has recognised the monitor, has output a signal via USB-C and the monitor has given the feedback: No signal via USB-C. Then not even a restart was of any use. A little later I plugged it back in normally and it worked straight away. Strangely, as far as I can tell, the problem only exists via USB-C, not via Displayport. Has anyone had such experiences or have any ideas for a solution?

I am not an Apple specialist, but I have experienced a similar situation at my employer (notebook via USB C to screen). The problem was solved by updating the BIOS and driver software.

For almost 6 months, the monitor worked perfectly together with a MacBook Pro 16". Since yesterday, the "No USB-C signal" errors have also occurred. I tried with 2 laptops and 2 cables without success.
With a quick call to Dell, the monitor will now be replaced. I am curious to see if the problem will be solved with the new device (new production?) and will report back here if necessary.
I suspect that the problem is known at Dell, the exchange was suggested immediately after describing the error message.

Hi @Noel8811, I'm in the final spurt of comparing the monitor :) Has the connection problem with USB-C been solved?

And I thought I was the only one who always had problems with the monitor when using a USB-C connection. If the USB-C connection wasn't so practical (only one cable for charging, hub and screen), I would probably have given it up a long time ago. However, on the good advice of the experts, I have already used the third USB-C cable between my HP Elitebook and the U2720Q. Nevertheless, the issue continues to crop up: After a certain period of use, the monitor and the laptop suddenly no longer understand each other. The monitor reports "No USB Type-C signal from your device" and the laptop recognises the monitor neither as a charger nor as a screen. Only when I disconnect the devices for a while do they "relax" again over a coffee break and then understand each other again straight away after plugging in the USB-C cable again...
Unfortunately, I also have this problem from time to time. What helps in this case is to unplug the power cable of the Dell monitor, wait a short while and plug it back in. As soon as the monitor restarts, the Macbook recognises it again (or the monitor recognises the USB-C signal from the Macbook again).
