I have a Sony A7 III and would like to mount the Sony A-mount lens G 4-5.6/70-400 SSM. Can anyone tell me if this is 1) possible? 2) are there any restrictions? and 3) would there be alternatives to the Sony adapter? Thanks for the feedback

1. yes is possible
2. the AF cannot keep up with that of a native E-mount lens. So it's only worth it if the lens is already there and you don't need the fastest AF.
3. since it is an SSM lens, you could also use an LA-EA3. The LA-EA5 can also provide AF with old rod AF lenses but not with the A7III, only with newer cameras like the A7RIV and also the A6600.
