Question about ASUS ProArt PA278CGV
I have connected the monitor with HDMI to my desktop and with USB-C to my laptop. The USB-C cable is connected to another splitter: 1 for the PC (to forward the mouse and keyboard, as my PC does not support USB-C via video), the other directly for the laptop. The screen is stubborn when I switch between the inputs. If I want to switch from USB-C to HDMI with the 3rd button from the left, a computer MUST be connected to this channel so that I can even open the menu for switching. Otherwise, I can only edit settings from the screen if a computer is connected to it. Do others have the same problem? Is there a workaround? Problem occurs with Windows 11 and Ubuntu 24.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card. I intuitively selected the input on the monitor during the existing
(DP cable) connection between PC and monitor. I have not tested the case without an existing DP connection.
And yes; components such as splitters and docking stations etc. can cause problems. You should, whenever possible,
start with a "minimal configuration", i.e. without additional components, to rule out any errors.

I only occasionally connect the laptop via the USB C and then don't use my own keyboard/mouse. So I don't have a splitter in between. Is this possibly causing the problems?
