I have the following graphics card: Sapphire Radeon RX 6700 XT Pulse. It "only" supports AMD FreeSync. The monitor supports the "AMD Freesync Premium" sync technology. Can my graphics card now not use synchronisation? Or are monitors with Free Sync Premium or Free Sync Premium Pro "backwards compatible"?

Helpful answer

Your Sapphire Radeon RX 6700 XT supports AMD FreeSync and the monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium. FreeSync Premium is backwards compatible with FreeSync, which means that your graphics card can use synchronisation with the monitor.

FreeSync Premium builds on the normal FreeSync technology and offers additional features such as lower latency and extended HDR support, but is generally compatible with FreeSync-capable graphics cards such as your RX 6700 XT.
