I would like to set up a WLAN that goes over three floors and on each floor there should be a U6 mesh as an access point. On two floors I have a LAN connection to which I can connect the U6 mesh. On the third floor I lack a LAN connection. Can I connect the third U6 Mesh to one of the other U6 Meshes via a mesh network or do I also need a LAN connection there?
Yes, that works and that's how I have it running. My U6 mesh is connected directly to a Ubiquiti US8-150W POE switch.
The only disadvantage is that when the switch updates and reboots, the Wi-Fi also goes away.
Yes, this is possible, provided that
- the signal strength from the second floor is strong enough that it can be received and passed on by the U6 mesh on the third floor (the weaker the signal, the worse the bandwidth will be on the third floor)
- a PoE power adapter is available for the power supply
Hello they also need lan connection.U6 mesh gets power over POE+
