If I want to operate my Netgear Nighthawk with a SIM card, do I need this antenna or are the antennas on the side that are included in the router sufficient?

So I had this additional antenna to improve the connection from the motorhome via an open window (antenna was mounted on the outside of the window, of course only works in good weather, as it is not an outdoor antenna). I sold the antenna again as I couldn't see any additional improvement in the connection.
