I'm 47 and apparently already at an age where I no longer get certain tech devices. What exactly do I need this one for? I have a great Smart TV with Netflix and YouTube app - what would be the use of Apple TV? Thanks for your help. Please answer as if I were your grandpa.

Hello Tacheles, I'm still a little older and sometimes feel the same way ;-). I have both Smart TV and Apple TV and always use Apple TV to watch films via the various sources, e.g. Netflix, classic TV via the Teleboy app. In my opinion, the operation and use of film content via Apple TV is simpler = sophisticated menu navigation, more secure = tvOS operating system, more comprehensive and more sophisticated than film consumption via the apps of a Smart TV.
