Is it actually possible to connect a normal Blue Ray player via the HDMI input and route the sound via an external loudspeaker (here Dell SB521A)?

Hi Marcus Mueller

Yes, that is possible. I have been doing this for years because I don't have a TV. I have my TV box and Blu-ray player connected to my monitor. As you already mentioned, you have to connect extra speakers for the sound because this monitor does not have any speakers.

Greetings John
