Is it not possible to use a short extension cable, in my case the light switch at the socket would be covered, it is only used for the power supply, then it is also possible to connect an Ethernet switch to the RJ45/LAN port, then connect several devices to this using an Ethernet cable? Thanks and regards Urs

Helpful answer

Yes you can connect an extension cable not a powerline
And it is possible to use a switch it will then be configured by the modem or router

I have a router from UPC, the Giga Connect Box P2, I hope it works with the RE 450, or should I buy the RE 500?
Thanks and regards

Yes, both are possible as already mentioned here by ilostebo.
