Is it worth the extra cost over the 10900k or is this one totally sufficient?

Depends on which motherboard you have:/

If you want to buy a new one, I would recommend AMD. For the same price you can get a much better processor from AMD than from Intel which is much better than the I9 9000K and I9 10900K. I would recommend the Ryzen 5 5600x (price performance CPU). And the B550 motherboard with Wlan etc... In addition, both Intel CPUs are only PCI 3.0 and you are better equipped for the future with the Ryzen, because

if you have a new GPU or maybe still want to get you can not take advantage of this with the Intel CPUs. Also includes SSDs. For gaming, the Ryzen is certainly worth it, but if you want to do rendering, the Intel CPU is better (I would take the I9 10900K). For the price of the i9 10900K, you can buy a motherboard for AMD and a CPU that performs even better in gaming. The surcharge is not worth it in my opinion, because the lithography cache is almost identical. you get 2 more cores, which is not the world and for 150 francs this is certainly not worth it.
