Question about Samsung USB-C audio adapter

Since the last (major) software update of my Galaxy S22 a few weeks ago, there have been random actions with this adapter. Suddenly the volume sometimes goes to 100, sometimes to 0, then it automatically jumps to the next song or starts some app. This is very annoying because it means I can't use my beloved headphones with a jack plug. Does anyone else have similar problems? What can I do about it (apart from buying new ones and hoping that the misbehaviour stops)? Is it possible to update the firmware of the adapter?

The tiny contacts and the plug mechanism of the USB plug are overstressed by the movements of a headphone cable and cause loose contacts after a few months. I had 2 of these adapters. Both produced the symptoms you describe after less than a year. The slot on the smartphone also suffered. Remedy: Bluetooth headphones, or an adapter that does not transfer the mechanical stress on the plug to the USB socket. I haven't found one yet.
