What about colour calibration? I place a very high value on the correct representation of colours and their quality. I ask this because I bought an HP Omen Widescreen, which was also advertised as 99% sRGB, but totally stunk against my 5-year-old iMac. A monitor from the company "Eizo" also forms a benchmark, but they are relatively expensive. What are your experiences?

So I've had the screen for a few weeks now.

I assume you need a reference monitor for graphics/video.

I use the Samsung with my Macbook Pro and do video editing on it, e.g. Avid or Davici.
However, I have to say that the monitor
is perfect, especially when editing film material in Cinemascope. The width is ideal for Timeline and to accommodate all the windows in Photoshop. For me, it's a great device with little delay
and the colours don't look bad... BUT it is not a reference monitor and if you work with real colours (graphic designer, colour grader) I would not prefer it to an EIZO. I think this is due to the nature of it being curved and the viewing angle is crucial.

I would recommend buying it, but as a reference I would put a smaller EIZO (second-hand if necessary) or a comparable one next to it.
