Question about DJI Mic

What about surround sound? Specifically: I would like to record a choir of 9 people and would like to place the mics in the centre front, has anyone tried this?

If you already own the microphones and just want to record for the choir's use as a reference of what they did ok, but I wouldn't do that if you want to publish it. You do have the option of plugging in external microphones. But even there the choice will be limited because, as far as I know, you don't have phantom power on the connection.

These microphones are clip-on microphones for direct speech at a distance of 10-15 cm. Room recordings are not possible or should not be made with them. This requires microphones with a cardioid characteristic, preferably stereo microphones with an MS recording or XY recording.

The mics are not particularly good for high-quality sound recordings. They are intended more for speakers.

As a part-time music producer and based on my experience with the Miks in video projects, I would say that you can probably make quite decent recordings. However, I would probably place them 1.5 - 2 metres apart so that you have a wider stereo image. Ultimately, the room will determine how satisfactory it will sound. But I would want to test it on site.
