Question about Philips 499P9H/00
What are the requirements to run the 499P9 on the notebook with native resolution of 5120*1440. I have a new HP 250 G8 notebook with Intel Iris Plus Graphics. There is only 3840*21080 displayed under Win10 despite the monitor driver downloaded from the Phillips website. However, the HP 250 has no display port but 1 HDMI (as well as 1 USB-C, which, however, does not output any signals at the USB-C port of the monitor; I have not tried USB-C to display port due to lack of cable). Questions: - Does the Intel Iris Plus Graphics have limitations here? - Is the HDMI output not designed for the 5120 resolution? - Which notebook in the range up to CHF 1,500 is guaranteed to offer the native resolution (for office applications, not for games)? - Or rather, what graphics/outputs would this notebook have to have? I have connected a docking station and installed the appropriate software for 5k on the laptop. This allows me to connect the screen with DP. USB-C to USB-C also works, but it has to be a quality USB-C cable.
I have connected both USB-C cable connection and the HDMI cable. USB-C, however, primarily to be able to use all USB ports. I have connected a total of 45 USB hubs (total of 33 external USB devices active), works perfectly. The screen is controlled exclusively via the HDMI connection. The settings on the monitor should be made as follows: USB settings: USB = USB 3.0, USB standby = On, KVM = USB C. Under Input, the corresponding HDMI 2.0 channel must be set (1 or 2).
This is how it works optimally for me. For an individual screen setup, I can recommend the app MaxTo; with it, it is possible to set up different screen layouts.
