This results from the power consumption of the Aquantia AQC107 chip, which consumes around 6 watts in 10 gigabit mode, plus around 2.2 to 3 watts for other components and voltage regulators, so that the total consumption does not exceed 10 watts. The device also supports the IEEE 802.3az energy-saving standard, which reduces power consumption when idle or under low utilisation.
