What should be done if the tone arm moves too far at start-up and the record cannot be heard from the beginning? This is not mentioned in the user manual and Denon has no support for such errors...

You have to adjust the Lead In, which is located in the base. The adjustment is a bit fiddly.

(1) Lead In
Check that the stylus drops at 5 to 25 counts for 17cm and 30cm records.
(2) Lead Out
Check if the pickup returns at 3 to 15 counts (3mm pitch).

(a) Attach the pickup.
(b) Loosen the bottom plate.
(c) Insert screwdriver at Lead In or Lead Out and adjust. Test the adjustment.
(d) Once it is correct, fix with Loctite thread locker after adjustment.
(e) Fix the bottom plate.

Lead In
- Count increases when clockwise
- Count decreases when turned anticlockwise
Lead Out
- Count increases clockwise
- Count decreases when rotated counterclockwise
