The official Samsing product page says, this monitor can charges up to 45W, therefore it can charge a 12 inch Macbook as Bleah89 says, it can even charge a retina Macbook Air, but a 16 inch Macbook Pro requires a 96W charger unfortunately so it won't give enough juice to my computer.

it works for my 12" macbook 2017 (which only has 1 usb-c port... so this was a MUST and it took me 3 different displays until I found one that worked). I don't know if the pro needs even more power.. At least on the pro you could charge in parallel if needed, but

It works with HP Elite Book G5 to charge the notebook, transfer video, mouse, keyboard.
However you need to buy additional USB-C cable with standard 3.1. The one which comes with monitor only works for charging.
