The nib of the 849 fountain pen made of glossy black plastic fits perfectly in the hand. The barrel is made of aluminum and has a hexagonal shape. The clip is made of flexible steel. The nib is made of solid stainless steel and features a new design with a distinctive emblem. The Caran d'Ache isotype is engraved on the button. The cap can be replaced at the top end of the barrel. The fountain pen is finished in fluorescent green-yellow.
