Here, children are guided in the 1st and 2nd grades to gain enjoyment and confidence in writing their first own sentences and short texts. Through a variety of engaging and motivating exercises, they learn to formulate syntactically correct sentences, use basic linguistic tools purposefully, and plan, write, and revise texts to a certain extent. This way, young writers are gently introduced to essay writing step by step. The following topics, which relate to the children's experiences, are covered: understanding the structure of an essay, planning texts, writing informative texts (labeling items, wish and packing lists), providing directions and descriptions, writing about pictures, and formulating their own creative stories. This booklet also includes 6 writing mastery test pages for practicing and applying what has been learned, a checklist for self-revising texts, an answer booklet for self-checking, and as a bonus: a sticker reward system.
