The garden is an enclosed space, intended to protect the best: plants, ideas, and the soil in which both take root. Since the prevailing market forces threaten life, this original definition is highly relevant after centuries in which the art of gardening was at the forefront! However, the garden fence is an illusion; birds, butterflies, and moles, along with plants and their seeds, do not care about it. The boundary of our garden is the vulnerable biosphere, and its gardener is all of humanity. This gardener adopts a new attitude: he observes, marvels, understands, and befriends nature. He only intervenes cautiously in the evolving life, rather than trying to dominate it. In this way, he enhances biodiversity. Such a garden is not forward-looking because it is beautiful, but because it is understood.
