Thermal transfer technology is based on the heating of specific points in the thermal transfer print head, allowing for precise transfer from the ribbon to the surface of the printed material. Different proportions of wax, synthetic resin, colour pigments, and additives give the thermal transfer ribbon its properties, such as transferability (melting point and viscosity), printability, and adhesion to different materials. The printout is resistant to mechanical and chemical influences, heat, UV radiation, and has optical density.
