The private art collection of the Hilti Art Foundation includes over 200 paintings, sculptures, and photographs of the highest quality, ranging from classical modernism to the present day. Volume 2 of the two-part collection catalog presents 120 selected works from the mid-20th century to today, featuring artists from Josef Albers to Thomas Struth. The portion of the collection showcased in Volume 2 particularly includes abstract and concrete art from 1950 to the present, focusing on material, surface, space, and movement, as well as form, color, rhythm, and light. This includes works by Fontana, Klein, Manzoni, Uecker, Mack, and Colombo, as well as by Albers, Bill, Fruhtrunk, von Graevenitz, Richter, and Sonnier. There are also larger bodies of work by Gottfried Honegger, Gotthard Graubner, Imi Knoebel, and Sean Scully. A special emphasis is placed on photographs by Thomas Struth, which address themes of civilization and technology, as well as nature and culture.
