Product details
The Weimar Residence Palace was not only the residence of Duchess Anna Amalia. In 1617, the "Fruit-Bearing Society for the Purification of the German Language" was founded here; in the palace chapel, known as the "Heavenly Castle," Johann Sebastian Bach could be heard playing the organ. Goethe attempted to realize his architectural ideal developed in Italy during the reconstruction of the east wing. In the 20th century, the representatives of the Weimar Republic convened in the palace. Annette Seemann describes its eventful history from the Middle Ages to the present day.
