The second international conference on the meaning and use of the word 'communism', organized at the initiative of Alain Badiou and Slavoj Žižek, took place from June 25 to 27, 2010, at the Berliner Volksbühne. Following the success of the inaugural conference in London a year earlier, this time the aim was to open discussions to the experiences and reflections of philosophers from other regions of the world, particularly from the countries of the former Soviet bloc.
