Information about the Author
Morton Rhue is the pseudonym of the successful American children's author Todd Strasser. Born in 1950 in New York, Todd has published over 140 children's and young adult books. His most famous book is The Wave, which is a fictionalized account of a fascinating teaching experiment at a California high school in 1967. It has been adapted into a film. Todd continues to live in New York State and has an adult family.
Summary of The Wave
The Wave is based on a nightmarish true event at a California high school when a teacher wanted to demonstrate the dangers of propaganda and groupthink. It is part of Penguin's The Originals - iconic, direct, unique.
Laurie is unsure of what to think about The Wave. It had started as a simple history experiment to lighten her study of World War II, and it had turned into a trend that took over everything.
