Quiet sweep movement
A sweep movement is nearly silent because the second hand and minute hand move almost imperceptibly due to a finer gear ratio. As there are minimal mechanical forces acting on the hands, the clock noise is significantly reduced. It can only be heard if you place your ear on the clock mechanism.
