Descaler - not the product, but the appliance?

I am currently using distilled water. I use it to fill the robot vacuum cleaner, but also for the steamer where I prepare food (because otherwise there is always a limescale deposit in the steam container). The device above says that it is suitable for descaling water for the iron - so it would also be good for filling the vacuum-mopping robot tank. But as I also want it for food, I assume I might have to look under water filters if I want to cover both with one appliance? Or would the above also work for the steamer? Thank you very much
