Control is conveniently done via the dial on the device, through the app, or by voice command with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Notably, the window-open detection feature automatically reduces the room temperature when a window is opened. To optimize functionality, such as displaying the current temperature or accelerating the window-open detection, door-window contacts and wall thermostats can be added.
