The Grand Gourmet Damasteel® collection impresses with blades made from a unique material: Damasteel®. Similar to Damascus steel, the production of Damasteel® involves high-quality steels of varying hardness. These are powdered and bonded under vacuum with extreme pressure. The material sinters into a steel with approximately 120 layers of incomparable homogeneity, which is then traditionally hand-forged in the WMF blade forge in Germany. Combined with a handle made of high-quality Cromargan and the final acid etching to reveal the individual layers, this results in perfectly balanced knives for the highest precision and safety while cutting, whose mere appearance is already captivating.

Unique Damasteel® - Damasteel® is an unparalleled blade steel of the highest purity, produced using a powder metallurgy process. As with Damascus steel, high-quality steels of various hardnesses are used. These are powdered and bonded under vacuum with extreme pressure to create a blade steel with approximately 120 layers - for WMF knives with unique toughness and strength, as well as superior edge sharpness and cutting ability.
