Hello everyone. Is the cup grate actively heated, i.e. does it use extra electricity? And if so, can it be switched off? Or is it a passive heater, i.e. it uses waste heat from somewhere else? Thank you & greetings

No, the cup grate is not heated.
It is not necessary.
I have this coffee machine and I am satisfied.
It is simply a different coffee than from the fully automatic coffee machine.
It takes a little practice, but when everything is set to taste, you get good coffee.
Mine is set to grind at level 4.
Temperature on 3
Very recommendable is Brita (water decalcification).
And clean the piston directly after each coffee outlet.
